Come volunteer for a hands-on day at the farm! Join us in planting, weeding, or harvesting, and experience the satisfaction of connecting with your food firsthand. There are many different tasks available for different physical abilities (options below). Enjoy the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and camaraderie of fellow farm enthusiasts as we work together to grow the food that will nurture us all.
Join us for 1 hr or stay for the day! Come once a month, bi-weekly, or on a regular weekly rotation.
Harvest
If you like to get down in the dirt, and you like to see what goes into harvesting your food, we could use your help. With hundreds of pounds of food coming off the farm each week, many hands make for light work. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday mornings are our harvest windows.
Bed Prep & Transplanting
Feeling the itch to go to the gym? Skip the fee and come to the farm, where tasks like broad-forking and compost application will be sure to find some new muscles to flex. Our bed prep process is rather efficient and predictable, but is very labour intensive.
Weeding
Organic, small-scale farming presents challenges, with weeds being a major issue. Unlike conventional methods, we can't use herbicides. Situated on old pasture ground, our farm needs friends to help combat the relentless growth of grasses. Plus weeding is the best kind of therapy.
Bagging Greens
If you prefer to keep off your hands and knees but still want to be part of the harvest, we have just the role for you! Join us every Friday afternoon as we bag our greens. This task is easy, allowing you to stand or sit comfortably, and doesn't involve heavy lifting. It's a welcoming opportunity to contribute to our harvest process while enjoying the Farm’s atmosphere.
tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes
Want to get better at growing your own tomatoes at home? I’ve always found the best way of learning to do something is to get hands on experience. Join us in the battle of the tomatoes, and come help us prune, amend, or harvest tomatoes from our greenhouses. Rain or shine, this job is done inside our covered growing space.
Market Assistant
If you love the public, and you love our food, you’re the perfect candidate to help us at markets. At market, you will be helping us stock our booth, describing products to customers, or helping us cash out those folks who might be trying to purchase something. This is a great way to meet the patrons of the farm.
